Abstract:
Organizational performance, although widely discussed, remains one of the ambiguous issues of management studies. There have been numerous perspectives and various research approaches explaining the organizational success dilemma. This paper assumes that explaining the difference between firms that achieve or not achieve sustainable performance can be done by focusing on the effects of top management teams (TMT) on human resource management (HRM) effectiveness, which in turn influence organizational outcomes. Thus, this article aims to answer the following question: how important are TMT characteristics for HRM effectiveness and consequently for the organizational performance?
