Tourist Arrivals from Distant Countries to the Czech Republic in 2012-2018

Abstract:

The Czech Republic represents very attractive destination for tourists from many countries all around the world. During the past years the Czech Republic has noted continuously increasing publicity of foreign visitors. The greatest deal of them is represented by citizens of neighbouring countries, especially from Germany, Slovakia and Poland. As about more distant countries, many tourists come from Russia and the United States. This article focuses on analysis of tourist arrivals from three distant countries all over the world (the North America, Near East and East Asia), which show the highest arrival growth dynamics in the monitored period. The analysis takes into account both the fundamental macro-economic effects (economic cycle in the world and in the Czech Republic, rate of CZK to foreign currencies, including policy of the Czech National Bank), and micro-economic environment in the Czech Republic (price trend for overnight accommodation).
