Abstract:
Tourism is becoming a significant sector of the economy as it contributes to the development of enterprises and serves as the indicator of regional and local prosperity. Tourism is a sector with significant opportunities for development as it attracts consumers even from distant areas. Because of its high expansion potential, and also due to the fact that its services are consumed locally, tourism is becoming an important factor in local and regional development, including the development of cities. The article discusses potential influence of tourist cluster structures on cities’ economy. The main aim of the article is to show how clusters and urban development interact in the context of tourism. The article presents the basic assumptions of the concept of clusters with special emphasis on tourism clusters and their significance for the economy of cities.
