Abstract:
The integration of Poland with the structures of the European Union was one of the most important objectives of the systemic transformation and it had a serious impact on the development and conditions of generating tourist products in Poland. The EU does not have direct competencies in the scope of tourism, but can play a key coordinating role, taking into account the needs of the tourism industry, when planning its activities in other areas. Since 2009, together with the Treaty of Lisbon entering into force, the EU’s tourism competencies have been extended.
