Abstract:
Involvement in the stages of education and learning is the first gate of life in a journey that extends to the selection of individuals into their professions and determines what they are, whether practical or scientific, governmental, or private. There are also requirements which could be enhanced to ensure that individuals have successful access and high-performance quality in their careers, starting from the level of competence through scientific life and the abilities to execute, until they gain experience during their years of working and activating skills of all kinds to achieve distinction towards achieving professional merit. The U.S. government's decision to rely more on skills in hiring and selecting people for job positions (Trump 2020) has sparked a lot of relevant debates. However, from my multiple experiences of college admission affairs at the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, as well as later handling the Deanship of faculty and staff affairs, the choice of people in both cases has shown a great similarity between them. The researcher aims to instigate and explore concepts associated with defining and selecting people with professional merit. It can be said that the outcomes of these concepts rely heavily on the analytical mind.
