Towards Understanding Public E-Procurement Adoption among Suppliers

Abstract:

Despite the claim public e-procurement system is predicted to offer a better business coordination and affiliation, and higher supplier financial performance, the adoption rate among the supplier firms is still low. Therefore, a research framework is proposed to understand whether firms’ knowledge absorption ability and technological competence influence the adoption. In addition, factors that influence firms’ knowledge absorption ability and technological competence are also investigated. The study will potentially contribute to the IS discipline since measuring public e-procurement adoption has been widely based on theories that focus on individual’s perception and acceptance.
