Transformation of Document Warehouse Model To NOSQL Document-Oriented Model

Abstract:

Currently, it becomes difficult to manage the huge volume of data. Hence, the data/document warehouse building approaches must be revised. In this context, Not-Only SQL (NoSQL) environments can provide scalability while maintaining flexibility for an OLAP system. In this paper, we propose a set of rules to transform the multidimensional galaxy model of the Document Warehouse (DocW) into the document-oriented NoSQL model. We present two types of transformations: Simple and Hierarchical. To validate the proposed transformation rules, we have used the document-oriented NoSQL system MangoDB and the Talend Data Integration tool. The evaluation is realized on a medical collection by comparing the values of the two metrics WRL (Write Request Latency) and RRL (Read Request Latency).
