Abstract:
Public transport, along with the territorial expansion of cities and the exponential growth of the population in agglomerations, has become an indispensable and one of the most important services that local authorities must provide to residents. Good functioning of mass transport enables efficient functioning of the agglomeration, influences the image of the city, and brings the satisfaction to residents and visitors [7]. It is assumed that cities with more than 40,000 inhabitants cannot function without well-organized public transport [4]. In Poland, all cities with more than 40,000 of residents have had public transport organized for a long time [4], and the current trend is that all cities with a population of 20-39 thousand, of which there are 109 in Poland [1,2], also aspire to organize their own public transport covering the city and the surrounding municipalities.
