Abstract:
Current situation in business innovation field is focused on digital data. Everything what we can count, and measure helps us to get better solution. Decision making in business is the most important activity and digital data helps to make right decision. UAV is the new area how to catch more information about situation and after that make decision faster and a higher degree of certainty. However, innovations in this technical field also bring with them a few questions. One of them is the real impact of these super effective solutions on our environment. In this sense, primarily higher efficiency, economic optimization, is addressed, but what are the side effects of this form of innovation? The aim of the study is to provide an overview of theoretical approaches to the issue. The secondary goal is to present the technical security of drones and their necessary components in terms of functionality. What is the sustainability of individual components and thus also UAV solutions in general? Through analytical methods such as analysis of available theoretical sources and approaches to UAV, but also through the method of induction, deduction, implementation, comparison, it was possible to provide a critical view of the issue in the perspective of environmental sustainability. The use of a given innovation in certain areas of business is considered a necessary innovation, but its environmental impacts are obscured by the pressure to innovate in technology and data collection. The question remains, at what cost are we willing to support technological progress?
