Understanding the CEOs’ Leadership Style towards Enterprise Resources Planning Systems Implementation: Evidence of Bruneian SMEs

Abstract:

The study investigates the sixty chief executives officers’ (CEO) leadership style towards adoption of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems among small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Brunei Darussalam. The study used the MLQ from Bass and Avilio (1995) to measure the leadership style. The results confirm that CEOs transformational leadership style is significant towards adoption of ERP system. The results were further discussed and some recommendations were made for the relevant authorities promoting Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) among SMEs in Brunei Darussalam.
