Abstract:
Nowadays, due to the digital transformation the organizations face a radically changing context for their workforce, their workplace, and for the world of work in general. It is of the utmost importance to understand the context of this transformation and its impact in the human resources management to develop new approaches to manage people. This study adopted a qualitative multiple case study methodology, using as technique of information gathering the semi-structured interview and the secondary sources of information. Five project managers from five Portuguese technology-based companies participated in the case studies. The results of this investigation suggest that digital technologies play an important role in all phases of the management of a project. These organizations have developed a digital strategy involving different areas of the organization to increase team productivity and offer customers differentiated services against competition, supported by innovative digital platforms, developed a culture of learning and continuous innovation. We highlight contributions to the human resources management and practices.
