Abstract:
The paper deals with the issue of the selection process in Slovak enterprises. The aim of the paper is to identify and analyze the main factors influencing the selection of employees in Slovak enterprises and to find out whether the type, history and reputation of the university graduated by job seekers can be included among these factors. Using a questionnaire on a sample of 94 respondents, the process of selecting the employees in the surveyed enterprises is analyzed. The intention is to make a list of factors that are considered the most important in evaluating jobseekers. The aim of the paper is to identify the main factors influencing the selection of employees in Slovak enterprises and to find out if one of the main factors influencing the selection of employees is their level of education, the type of university, its history and reputation. Further, the attitude of Slovak employers towards the graduated university of the applicants were examined. In the final part, the recommendations were addressed to job seekers to help them succeed in the selection process; to enterprises to make the selection process of new employees more efficient; to universities to help their graduates to enter the labor market.
