“Unlocking Factors of Motivation”: Optimizing Efficiency in Start-up Employees’ Mode of Work

Abstract:

Purpose: This article focuses on the exploration of workplace happiness and its correlation with productivity within the context of startup environments. The study aims to analyze various factors that influence employee happiness, aiming to optimize overall efficiency by tailoring the working environment in diverse ways.

Design/ Methodology/ Approach: In this research, we used a descriptive causal approach to explore how workplace happiness affects productivity in start-ups. The researcher sent a structured questionnaire through Qualtrics to 256 employees in well-organized organizations in Bangalore, India. We chose participants randomly for an unbiased sample.

Findings: The people who answered the survey felt that the way things were before Covid had its advantages. In the new hybrid model, having the freedom to work independently and flexibility in how they work has made them more effective. It's interesting to note that when employees are given more responsibility, they tend to be happier at work and get more done.

Research limitations/ Implications: As a result, businesses are now responsible for providing extra perks to remote workers. This can enhance the satisfaction and enjoyment that these employees derive from their jobs.

Practical Implications: Effectively addressing challenges requires aligning with both learning and development goals and the internal business processes that make the most of each employee's skills and potential. This entails fulfilling the criteria outlined in the balanced scorecard components.
