Using PLS Path Modeling to Analyze Acceptation of Online Games in Mobile Devices: An Exploratory Analysis of UTAUT2

Abstract:

This paper aims to analyze the acceptance of online games using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2). A sample of players on mobile devices in Brazil loaded the data used in the study. The model acceptance was evaluated by partial least squares (PLS) based structural equation approach. The result of the analysis indicates that the method explains 84% the use of online games on mobile devices. The main conclusion highlights the importance of behavioral intention in the use of online games. The intention to play online is explained in order by the variables habit and social influence. The use of a particular online game is determined by behavioral intention.
