Value-added Exports and Global Value Chains just before and during COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract:

COVID–19 pandemic dramatically affected global economic activity as lockdown restrictions limited mobility and shut down many businesses. This paper aims to investigate the changes in value-added exports and global value chains during 2020–2021 (pandemic) compared to 2019 (last year before pandemic). Study on value-added exports and global value chains was conducted on the basis of world input-output tables prepared by the Asian Development Bank.
