Virtual Learning Environment for Gender Teaching in Faculty of Engineering. Building Digital Transformation for Education

Abstract:

In recent years, many changes in the area of gender have required structural, technological, social, cultural, and political transformations. The University is similar to this phenomenon and has responded to some of the demands of its community. One of these responses has been the incorporation of the Gender Perspective in the University Curriculum. This work presents a Virtual
Learning Environment to teach the subject in the Faculty of Engineering. An interdisciplinary group participated in its development, using the Moodle Platform, considering the Study Program, number of sessions, time, and characteristics of the student groups. The VLE is built considering two pedagogical methodologies: thinking-based and problem-based learning. Since it deals with gender equality issues in a community with more than 70% male students, analysis of the problematic is proposed, discussion from their own experiences and the construction of new social models that promote a less violent community and better mental health; therefore, more competitive institutions.
