Abstract:
The paper presents is based on the critical analysis of literature and search for proving of the utility of VR and AR technology based on case study approach in description trainings addressed to the professional group of civil pilots. The modern solutions of simulators using VR technology are evolving towards combining with AR and device elements - replicas, in order to increase the phenomenon of immersion and reduce the possibility of simulator disease. The main characteristics, as well as advantages and disadvantages of VR used in education are presented. Core competences of civil pilots are indexed with the examples of using VR stimulators for their professional trainings, including EEG research integrated with non-invasive eye-tracker. In conclusions are summarized arguments for using VR/AR and brain activity monitoring approaches in competence-based training programs in aviation sector. The article is a part of the research project realized under control of Minister of Science and Higher Education in Poland.
