Abstract:

Increased population growth causes environmental problems, such as what happened in the capital city in Indonesia. If there is no systematic effort made, the environmental impact will occur to be significant. One of the ecological problems in the Capital City is the waste problem. The growth of waste every year continues to increase due to various human needs. Potential environmental pollution due to waste occurs accross multiple business sectors, both small and large scale. The office building is one of the contributors to the waste sector. The purpose of this study is to determine what factors are obstacles to waste management in an office building that can improve environmental performance. This research uses a qualitative approach, and the method used is a mixture of qualitative and quantitative through observation, interviews, and literature study. This research was conducted at a logistics company. Based on the results of the study showed that employee knowledge plays an essential role in the success of the waste Separating program in the Company. Limited knowledge makes it difficult for employees to distinguish and separate waste. It means that it is needed a way to increase understanding by socializing, providing clear information on the waste and easy access so that it can increase employee interest in Separating waste.
