Abstract:
The relevance is determined by the growing interest of modern scientists in the social and economic history of the Russian Empire in the second half of the XIX and early XX century, as well as to the development of the domestic market as a reflection of capitalist modernization. Aggravation of public and scientific discussion about the ways of modernization of the country and its results at the beginning of the XXI century increased the importance of studying regional and local markets in the all-Russian system. The case of Tula province, which combined typical features of the development of economic processes within the Central Industrial and Central Agricultural regions, allows us to come closer to understanding the versatility of capitalist modernization in the European part of the country during the period of the Great Reforms and their first results [1]. A research of the local markets of the Kursk province, due to the specifics of all-empire institutions, elements of local infrastructure, proximity to the capital, and specialization in commercial and industrial development, allows us to study the features of the spatial organization of market relations in Russia in the second half of the XIX century. The development of local economic systems in modern Russia stimulates the interest of researchers in studying the historical experience of similar processes in the regulation of trade and market relations, development vectors of infrastructure elements, and economic practices.
