Abstract:
The Data Mining (DM) approach is receiving huge interest both in research and in business domain. It helps to sift through huge historical data in order to predict or discover patterns that influence the performance of any business process. In addition to the generic advantages of data mining concept, domain-specific knowledge-discovery applications are necessary in order to come up with useful contextually-rich applications. E-commerce represents one of the most useful applications of data mining. Online Bookstores are of the most widely used e-commerce applications and as any other web-based applications, developing Bookstore websites must be developed based on a user-centered criteria that make it compete with other similar applications. Trends in users’ preferences and different purchasing behaviors must be taken in consideration, and this is the major role of applying DM techniques. This paper aimed to present results from the mining process of survey data. The results are selected list of attributes that would be used to set up criteria to evaluate several websites. The attributes of the proposed criteria is expected to support software designers and developers to develop very competitive online Bookstore applications.
