Abstract:

This paper represents a review of the concept of welfare and how it evolved through time, by being filtered by social democracy and liberalism. One idea that is highlighted is the overview had by the global economy on two special cases that promote welfare by using different measures, the cases of United States of America and Sweden. In the end this paper a question arises: what are the long-term benefits of being part of a process founded on welfare and that tries to offer an alternative for traditional economic processes.
