Abstract:
The aim of the article is to discuss the importance of well-being in the lives of women entrepreneurs. The authors attempt to define the concept of well-being and review the results of previous research into the subject in the context of the development of female entrepreneurship in Poland and around the world. The empirical part presents the results of original research carried out at the beginning of 2020. The categories of the quality of life of young female students correspond to the OECD classification, and the authors sought to link them to entrepreneurial intentions. The study should be classified as a case study. In the auditorium survey, the respondents were asked to react to certain statements and reveal their subjective feelings about the quality of life and plans related to running a business in the future. The results of the conducted research prove that students with active entrepreneurial intentions assess the material and psychological aspects of well-being higher than the rest of the students, such aspects including their health, skills and professional competences. According to the authors, knowledge of the factors determining mental well-being is the basis for shaping entrepreneurial attitudes of young people and enables their professional activation. It is therefore useful for laying the foundations of an educational policy conducive to socio-economic development in a modern economy.
