Abstract:

There have been several attempts to identify the level of happiness on national level in last decades. Later on, even more systematically countries were encouraged to measure the level of subjective well-being with happiness being part of the
surveys. The paper deals with the hard data on happiness and optimistic viewpoint linked to personal and economic situations and the optimistic expectations of the future in Slovakia, compared with the similar results reached in other countries.
