Abstract:

This paper review the theoretical and empirical review of literature from existing studies by providing information within the factors affecting economic development in relation to Chad. The literature also focusses on the empirical review based on economic development around the world in relation to Chad. The review of literature attempts to identify why despite effort made throughout the years, economic development is still very critical in the country. The paper highlight the following arguments are the main challenges of economic development in Chad such as lower human development index, increase in the population and the level of poverty, inequality, lower health and wellbeing factors, unemployment, growth, decline in oil price, weak security environment, decline in the business freedom. Likewise, the paper focuses on these arguments to provide strong justification on the problems in economic development of Chad. From the arguments and justification given, there are recommendations on how to improve the overall economic development situation of the country as a result of the lack of human development factors.
