Work Climate and Motivation in Job Satisfaction. A Study of Teachers in Public Institutions

Abstract:

This study analysed the influence of work climate and motivation on job satisfaction and the mediating role of work motivation. A multivariate quantitative methodology was used, and a census sample of 189 teachers was applied to answer the hypotheses using a path model based on an analysis for generalized linear models (GLM). The results reveal that teachers' work climate, motivation, and job satisfaction are significantly correlated; the path model also shows that work climate influences work motivation and job satisfaction. In addition, it was demonstrated that job motivation plays an important role in influencing job climate and teachers' job satisfaction. It is concluded that work climate and motivation can influence teachers' job satisfaction, considering the important mediating role of motivation. Therefore, these findings highlight the importance of promoting a favourable work climate and fostering motivation among teachers to improve their job satisfaction.
