Work Expectations among Generation Y in Malaysia

Abstract:

The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between workexpectations and job satisfaction among Generation Y employees.  The independent variables of work expectations consist of compensation and benefits, employee development, work environment and flexibility and job satisfaction as dependent variable.  150 surveys were gathered questionnaires interpreted using into frequency analysis reliability analysis, descriptive analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis.  Based on the findings, the hypothesis was supported, that there are positive relationship between the independent variables, compensation and benefits, employee development, work environment and flexibility with dependent variable, job satisfaction.  The highest expectations of Generation Y that contribute to their job satisfaction were employee development and work environment.
