Work Motivators for Members of Generation Z in Poland

Abstract:

A modern organisation is perceived as an open system that must be able to function in a dynamically changing and complex environment. In order to grow, organisations must develop a competitive advantage, which can be achieved through the commitment of their employees. It is particularly important to identify the factors that motivate Generation Z employees. These are people who are currently entering the job market and who have significantly greater digital skills than previous generations. This is particularly valuable in Industry 4.0.

The aim of this article is to identify key motivators for work among employees from the perspective of Generation Z representatives surveyed in Poland. The research was conducted to answer the following question: what factors have a key impact on employee motivation at work? Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the following factors are particularly important for Generation Z representatives: a friendly atmosphere at work, good relations between employees and the opportunity for self-fulfilment. They attach great importance not only to the transparency of the remuneration system, career development path and promotion opportunities, but also freedom of action, praise and recognition from their superiors.
