Abstract:
The term stress is used nowadays almost daily. It is an important significant factor that can be dangerous, because it can have a negative impact on the mental and physical health of people. Work stress can be considered as an organizational problem that arises from an excessive workload. In essence it is a discrepancy between employee and his work. This type of stress can affect everyone in any job and it can occur in every labour sector regardless of the size of the organization. According to recent studies, it is proven that every fourth employee is suffered from stress worldwide. Between main reasons it may be considered fact, that changing world of work boost claims and requirements for employees, whit which many cannot cope and then they feel stress. This contribution provides overview of the theoretical background, that are oriented at work stress, its occurrence in the pedagogical process and comparing views on work stress from authors from different countries. Theoretical background was defined on the basis of a literature analysis and scientific articles focusing about work stress. In the end of the contribution, we mention an analysis of identified stressors that influence teachers at elected elementary schools in Žilina.
