Workplace Relations a Panacea for Job Performance: A Case Study of a Manufacturing Company, Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria

Abstract:

This paper aimed to examine workplace relations a panacea for job performance in a manufacturing company in Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria. It investigated the factors such interpersonal relations vis-à-vis mentoring that affect job satisfaction. The study population, consisted of employees in the food & pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Ota, comprised of 200 respondents. To achieve the study objectives, the researcher developed and distributed a questionnaire, and collected and analyzed the data using SPSS. An overall analysis was performed based on the descriptive statistics and correlation analysis. The results of the study revealed that interpersonal relations and mentoring have a significant effect on job satisfaction. The paper provided recommendations for fostering interpersonal relations and mentoring in the manufacturing organization in Nigeria.
